How It Works
A guest provides their name or chooses from a design menu. Our technician enters the personalization, places the item in the laser enclosure, and the machine traces the design with precision. Guests watch through the viewing window as their item is engraved in real time. No ink, no vinyl, no transfer — the mark is part of the material itself and will never peel, fade, or wash off.
How the Three Methods Compare
We offer three live personalization methods, and many events combine them. Here’s how laser engraving stacks up against chainstitch embroidery and heat pressing on materials, speed, finish, and best use.
| Method | Chainstitch Embroidery | Heat Pressing | Laser Engraving You're here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Works on | Denim, tote bags, cotton apparel | Apparel, hats, accessories | Tumblers, glass, leather, wood, metal |
| Speed | 2–5 min per piece | 20–30 items/hr per press | 40–60 items/hr |
| Finish | Raised, hand-guided, one-of-a-kind | Full-color DTF transfer, wash-safe | Permanent etched mark, never peels or fades |
| Best for | Premium keepsakes, fashion & heritage brands | High-volume events, fast turnaround | Hard goods, durable branding |

Tumblers & Drinkware
Insulated tumblers, water bottles, wine glasses, pint glasses, and coffee mugs. The most requested item at corporate events — every guest walks away with a personalized keepsake.

Leather Goods
Journals, wallets, keychains, luggage tags, belts, and coasters. Clean, debossed look without custom dies — perfect for luxury brand activations and VIP gifting.

Wood & Natural Materials
Cutting boards, coasters, ornaments, picture frames, and awards. The laser brings out the natural grain for a warm, organic finish that feels premium.
What We Engrave
- Acrylic and glass — signage, awards, and display pieces. Creates a frosted, elegant effect on clear materials.
- Metal accessories — flasks, pens, bottle openers, card holders, and promotional items.
Laser Types
- CO2 lasers — for organic materials like wood, leather, acrylic, fabric, and glass. Produces a warm, natural-looking mark with depth and contrast.
- Fiber lasers — for metals including stainless steel, aluminum, and anodized surfaces. Creates a permanent, scratch-resistant mark.
What You Get

- Design templates and personalization input system

- Dedicated smoke purifier unit — no fumes, no odor, safe for indoor events and guest proximity

Laser vs. Hot Stamping
For leather, brands sometimes consider hot stamping (heated brass die pressed into the material). The key difference:
- Laser uses digital files — zero setup cost per design, unlimited personalization. Ideal for live events where every item is different.
- Hot stamping requires a custom die per design — higher upfront cost, better for production runs of a single repeated mark.
A Permanent Mark, Not a Coating
The defining advantage of laser engraving is permanence. There’s no ink sitting on top of the surface, no vinyl to peel, no transfer to crack in the wash. The laser removes or transforms the material itself, so the mark is physically part of the item — it survives daily use, dishwashers, and years of handling. For a brand, that means your logo or a guest’s name stays legible long after the event, turning a giveaway into a keepsake that keeps earning impressions. It’s the most durable personalization method we offer, which is why it’s the go-to for premium drinkware, awards, and luxury gifting.
Choosing the Right Laser for the Material
Not every laser engraves every material, which is why we bring the right tool for your item mix:
- CO2 lasers handle organic and non-metal materials — wood, leather, acrylic, glass, slate, and coated metals — producing a warm, contrast-rich mark with real depth.
- Fiber lasers mark bare metals like stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and anodized finishes with a crisp, scratch-resistant etch that CO2 lasers can’t achieve on raw metal.
When you share your item list, we match the laser (and settings) to each material so every piece comes out clean — whether it’s a powder-coated tumbler, a leather journal, or a stainless flask.
Safe for Indoor Events
Engraving organic materials produces smoke and odor, so every laser station ships with a sealed safety enclosure and a dedicated smoke purifier that filters fumes at the source. That means no haze, no smell, and safe operation right next to guests — even in hotel ballrooms, retail interiors, and other indoor venues where open processes wouldn’t be allowed. Guests watch the engraving happen through the enclosure window without any exposure.
Throughput & Setup
Laser engraving runs about 40-60 items per hour per unit depending on design size and material, sitting between the hands-on pace of chainstitch and the high speed of heat pressing. Setup takes 30-60 minutes and needs a stable surface and power. For high-volume events we bring multiple units and operators, and we pre-load your design templates so guests can personalize from an on-brand menu the moment they arrive.
Laser Engraving FAQ
- What materials can you laser engrave?
- Tumblers and drinkware, glassware, leather goods, wood, and metal. We use CO2 lasers for organic materials and fiber lasers for metals. The mark is part of the material itself, so it never peels, fades, or washes off.
- How many items can you laser engrave per hour?
- About 40-60 items per hour depending on the material and design size. Our technician enters the personalization, places the item in the enclosure, and guests watch through the viewing window as it is engraved in real time.
- Is laser engraving safe to run indoors?
- Yes. Our setup includes a safety enclosure and a smoke purifier, so it runs cleanly inside ballrooms, retail spaces, and convention floors. We confirm power and placement with your venue ahead of time.
- Can guests bring their own items to engrave?
- Often, yes — many materials engrave well. We share material requirements ahead of the event to confirm compatibility, or you can choose from our curated selection of blanks like tumblers and leather goods.
